Shelley Sykes has always been interested in ghosts and history. Living near the Gettysburg National Military Park gives her the opportunity to learn more about both. Her first young adult novel, For Mike, received an Edgar Allan Poe Award nomination for best young adult mystery and has been nominated for several state book awards. When not writing, Shelley Sykes is active in Girl Scouts and investigates ghosts and haunted locations.
