Lois Szymanski is the author of 15 books for young readers, including Little Icicle and Sea Feather. She is the only author in the state of Maryland to start a writing club for children, under the umbrella of the 4-H program. She also created a program in which children can exhibit their writing at a county fair, and have it evaluated by professional writers from the community. Lois Szymanski has written for numerous children's publications, including Highlights For Children and U*S*Kids Magazine. She is regional advisor for the Maryland/Delaware/West Virginia sector of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.
