Benjamin Franklin Cooling is the award-winning author of seven books, and the co-author or editor of eight more. He has published over eighty essays in American military history and has received four prizes for his writings, including the prestigious Douglas Southall Freeman award. Mr. Cooling is a Research Director with the Department of Energy, and Professor of History at the Industrial College of the Armed Forces of the National Defense University.
