A lifelong student of the American Civil War, Douglas Lee Gibboney's writings have appeared in a number of publications, including the Washington Post, Philadelphia Inquirer, Civil War Times Illustrated, and Country Magazine. He holds a bachelor of science degree from Penn State University and taught as an adjunct professor at Shippensburg University for 10 years. He and his wife live near Boiling Springs, Pennsylvania, in a farmhouse that was raided by Confederate cavalry during the Gettysburg campaign.
