"Why don’t you read it?" the soldier said. He was frustrated. Chucky could tell. He looked at Chucky with so many lines over his eyes that his forehead looked like a plowed field.

"I don’t know what you mean," Chucky said. "Read what?"

"The letter I left. It's right here and I've been asking someone to read it."
